The little Venice of Valencia, Port Saplaya

Port Saplaya 27/06/2024

Did you know that Port Saplaya is known as “the little Venice of Valencia”? The canals and colours of its facades have a lot to do with this. We will tell you a little about the reasons why it is known as such.

Why Port Saplaya is the little Venice of Valencia

The colours of the facades and the port and the canals that run into the city with moorings for boats are the two main characteristics for which Port Saplaya is known as the little Venice of Valencia.

The tones of the façades (reddish, pastel and ochre) were chosen by Agnès Borel, interior designer and President of Libertas 7, the company that owns the Port Saplaya Apartments . She was inspired by the villages of the French Riviera and the Italian Riviera, mainly Port Grimaud in the Gulf of Saint Tropez.

The sun enhances these colours and makes them reflect in the water of the canals to create an almost magical postcard.

The residential atmosphere and the urban port are the final touch so that, as soon as you see Port Saplaya, some people think of beautiful Venice.

Furthermore, the construction project (started in the 70s and executed in the 80s) planned low-rise buildings and articulated by two squares, open on one side and porticoed on the other three, located at each end of the town, in the purest Venetian style.
