What to eat on the beach

There is no better summer plan than spending the day at the beach: enjoying the sun, the sand and the good weather. If you don't want to miss a minute of your day at the seaside, the ideal thing is to bring food to eat on the beach.

If we talk about requirements, it is recommended that beach recipes be easy to transport and eat . Obviously, this depends on the infrastructure we have: it is not the same to go to the beach with just a towel than if we bring a cooler and even chairs and a table.

That's why, from Apartamentos Port Saplaya we bring you some ideas for recipes to eat on the beach. Easy recipes so that you don't waste a lot of time in the kitchen , but enjoy a delicious meal.

Simple recipes to eat on the beach

Pasta salad

This is a typical dish for beach days for every family. It is a super quick and easy dish to cook that can be adapted to the tastes of all the people in the family or group of friends. There is no 100% defined recipe but below we will tell you our version . The ingredients are:

  • Pasta: dry and short pasta such as fusilli is recommended
  • Tomato
  • Cucumber
  • Corn
  • Tuna
  • Pitted Olives
  • Fresh cheese
  • Eggs
  • Oil, salt and pepper

Elaboration:

  1. Boiling the eggs: The time depends on how cooked they are, but the recommended time is around 9 minutes. After this time, place them in cold water to make peeling them easier.
  2. We cook the pasta. The amount recommended by each manufacturer, since it will be the base of our dish, so there has to be enough.
  3. While the pasta and egg are cooking, we can cut the rest of the ingredients into the size that is most comfortable for us to eat. We can cut the tomato, cucumber and fresh cheese into small squares. We can cut the olives in half.
  4. We mix all the already cut ingredients (along with the egg, pasta, tuna and corn) and season. We recommend oil, salt and pepper, but you can also add mayonnaise. If you add mayonnaise, you will have to take a little more care in preserving the dish while it is on the beach.

If there are people in the group who don't like any of the ingredients, you can take it separately (pasta on one side and the rest of the ingredients in small tupperware) and assemble it to your liking at the time .

Potato omelette

The potato omelette is another classic that never fails . Easy to make and delicious cold. We don't know if there is anyone who doesn't know the recipe, but below we leave you our version. The only ingredients you will need are eggs, potatoes, oil and salt.

Elaboration:

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into small pieces.
  2. Put plenty of oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes in the oil at a medium temperature and add a little salt.
  3. Meanwhile, beat the eggs in a bowl with a pinch of salt.
  4. When the potatoes are soft, remove them from the heat, drain off any excess oil, and place them in the bowl with the egg to soak them well.
  5. Remove the oil from the pan (leaving only the minimum amount so that it does not stick to the pan).
  6. After a few minutes, pour the mixture into the pan over medium-high heat.
  7. When you see that it is cooking on the bottom, turn the omelette over with the help of the lid of the pan or a plate and remove it when it is at the point you prefer.

Country salad

This salad is also known as “ summer salad” and the name couldn’t be more apt. The country salad, with its creamy potato base, is wonderful when the heat is on. It is a simple but tasty dish.

Ingredients:

  • Potato
  • Chives
  • Tomato
  • Italian green pepper
  • Tuna
  • Pitted Olives
  • Red pepper
  • Eggs
  • Oil, salt and pepper

Elaboration:

We will start by boiling the potatoes and eggs in plenty of water for about 9 minutes (the eggs) and 15 or 20 minutes for the potatoes (depending on the size until you can pierce them with a knife without difficulty). We take it out and let it cool.

While they are cooling, you can wash and cut the vegetables (peppers, spring onions, tomatoes). Mix them all in a bowl with the chopped olives. When the potatoes and eggs have cooled, peel them and cut them into small pieces and mix them with the rest of the ingredients, add the tuna and dress the salad.

Wraps

This is a slightly different version of a typical sandwich . Like the rest of the recipes we have shared today, it can be customized to suit everyone's taste. They are a kind of rolled sandwiches.

Below, we leave you a recipe for a simple but delicious chicken wrap. The ingredients are as follows:

  • Wheat flour tortillas
  • Cheddar
  • York or braised ham
  • Turkey or chicken breast
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Tomato
  • Mayonnaise

The preparation is very simple but the result is excellent:

  1. Season the chicken or turkey breast with salt and pepper and cook it in the pan until it is to your liking. Add a slice of cheese on top just before it is finished cooking so that it melts. You can also coat the meat in breadcrumbs to give it a crispy finish that breaks up with the rest of the ingredients in the wrap.
  2. Meanwhile, cut the rest of the ingredients such as tomatoes or lettuce to have them ready.
  3. Once the meat is done, spread the corn tortillas with a little mayonnaise or whatever sauce you like best so that it doesn't dry out.
  4. Add the meat and the rest of the ingredients (also the ham).
  5. Roll the tortilla tightly so that the contents do not leak out. You can store them like this or cut them into portions to have them ready.
